Quote and Order Lists - Using Status and Status History

This article explains how to use Status and Status History to full advantage when viewing Quote and Order Lists in Solatech Window Covering Software version 4.2 and later.

More Information

Solatech Window Covering Software version 4.x introduced a new level of filtering and sorting for your Quote and Order Lists. To better utilize the full functionality of this feature, a complete understanding of the logic used is required.

Status and Status History are shown on the Status Tab of Order Entry


ORDER STATUS

The Current Order (or Quote) Status, as shown on the left side of the Status Tab, is a Single-State item. It shows the current status of the quote or order. Only "Quote Created" or "Order Created" statuses will be automatically set, other statuses must be manually set.

STATUS HISTORY

The Order (or Quote) Status History, as shown on the right side of the Status Tab, maintains a history of when certain milestones were reached in the life of a quote or order. Multiple items can be selected within Status History. Certain items can optionally be automatically set by performing certain actions; e.g. Printing production output or purchase orders can cause "Order Processing Started On" to be checked. Other items, such as "Order Processing Finished On" or "Order Closed On" must be manually set.

SETTING PREFERENCES

To set your preferences for automatically changing Status History, click File>Preferences>Quotes and Orders>History and Status

Next click on Setup History Auto Change Settings

Check the boxes that describe the history changes you wish to automatically apply.

FILTERING YOUR QUOTE AND ORDER LISTS

When opening your Quotes or Order lists, it should now be obvious that when selecting "Orders by History" refers to the right side of the Status Tab within orders, and "Orders by Status" refers to the left side of the Status Tab.

In order to successfully utilize the filtering available, you must be proactive in changing the Status or Status History of your quotes and orders.
