Google SMTP Email Access Change

Beginning September 30, 2024: third-party apps that use only a password to access Google Accounts and Google Sync will no longer be supported.
This decision comes from Google, not Solatech. It's purpose is enhanced account security. For users of Solatech Focus, there are things this does and does not impact.
Details:
Nothing changes for you if you currently use your Solatech Focus or DOS account to send email through either:
a) Google or
b) Microsoft Office 365
The issue for Google on September 30th, is if you use the SMTP method to use email within Focus. On this date, your Solatech Focus app will no longer send emails through accounts that connect to Gmail via SMTP due to this change in Google policy. However, standard Gmail and other Google accounts that are connected like the picture above, will continue to work as normal.
What to do if your Solatech Focus or DOS account is sending email through an email account connected via SMTP.
For Gmail and Google Account users, follow the instructions listed in this knowledge base article to connect Solatech Focus directly to your Google account. Or connect via your O365 account.
Note: If you're using a different account (Yahoo may be an example) you are free to continue sending emails for as long as that service supports SMTP. We do not have any additional information at this time but expect other email providers who support SMTP will follow Google's lead on this issue.
