Site Administrator User Security in Solatech Focus

Site Administrator User Security in Solatech Focus

Summary

Each Solatech Focus user has one of four types of user security:  Site Administrator, Account Administrator, Sales Rep or Installer. This article will describe each user type in detail.

Site Administrator

One Site Administrator is created as part of your initial site setup by Solatech.  This user will be the Primary Site Administrator. The Primary Site Administrator can add additional Secondary Site Administrators if desired. The Secondary Site Administrator(s) can perform all the same functions as the Primary Site Administrator, if they have been given permission to do so.

Site Administrators can:

  • Maintain the sliders, teasers, site logo, and page footer on the home page
  • Enable/disable products
  • Assign products to their accounts
  • Modify margins
  • Create new accounts
  • Create new users for any Account
  • Create/View/Edit/Delete customers for all Accounts and Account Users
  • Create/View and Edit quotes and sales for all Accounts and Account Users
  • Create/View and Edit orders and PO's for all Accounts and Account Users
  • Move quotes, sales and orders through the Workflow for All Accounts and Account Users
  • Cancel an Order
  • Edit an Order

The Primary Site Administrator can choose to limit some of these functions for Secondary Site Administrators.  When creating or updating a Secondary Site Administrator, you will see a privileges section which has  seven check boxes.  Adding or removing the check mark from these boxes will add or remove the corresponding privileges.

  1. Manage site administrators - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to add/modify other Secondary Administrators.
  2. Change Site Settings - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to modify the Site's logo, Slides, Teasers and Page Footer Links
  3. Manage site products - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to access/modify the Site Products
  4. Create accounts and manage account users - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to create new accounts and modify account users.
  5. Create new customers - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to create new customers.  Please note that even if this box is NOT checked, the Secondary SA will be able to view and modify existing customers.
  6. Create new quotes - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to create new quotes.  Please note that even if this box is not checked, the Secondary SA will still be able to modify existing quotes.
  7. Edit existing orders - if this box is checked, the Secondary SA will be able to make changes to orders.  (not available to all users).
