Searching with Solatech Help Center 2.0 returns all documents in the search results

Symptoms

This article explains the problem that when searching for keywords using the Solatech Help Center 2.0, on Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional, all available documents are returned in the search results.

Cause

This is caused because a required Microsoft component, Microsoft VBScript 5.6, is not installed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, download and install Microsoft VBScript 5.6 from:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2764

  1. Download the setup file using the link above and save it to your Desktop.
  2. Close all running programs, including your Web Browser.
  3. Double-click on setup program to start the installation. Follow the instructions.

Status

When SWCS 4.2 is installed on Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional, the VB Script 5.6 engine is not installed. Solatech is researching this issue and as more information becomes available this article will be updated.
