Roaming synchronization issues when Product information, options or Styles have been modified on the main system

Summary

This article explains the conflicts when a product is modified and a roaming workstation sends Quotes or Orders to the main system with a non-updated product.

If a product option is modified, (i.e. a color from a list is deleted) in a product and a order is created in a roaming work station BEFORE the new product information is synchronized to the roaming workstation:

The order IS received in the main system without any errors and the option values are not updated even when they do not exist anymore in the product, even if they are not part of a list anymore.

If a product Style is deleted from a product on the main system and an order containing a line item with that style is synched to the main system:

The order IS NOT t received in the main system and the following error is logged on the Roaming Workstations Event Log: Error - "The style '' is not a valid for the local product or the local product does not have any options."

If a product is disabled on the main system and an order is synched using that product:

The order IS received even when the product is disabled.

If a product is Active in Product Manager but the Product file is not on the Products Folder selected in File Manager ( i.e. the product file was deleted or moved , or the File Manager is pointing to a different folder)

The order IS NOT received in the synch process. The following messages are logged on the Roaming Workstations Event Log:

Warning - "Order cannot be received because one of the product, 'C:\Projects\Solatech WCS 4.1\Test Data\Products\Advanced Blind and Shade\xxx.mdb' is missing on the receiving system."

Error - "An error occured while processing an order file; the order file is invalid. (1000)"

If a product is Deleted from Product Manager but the product file exists in the products folder:

The order IS NOT received in the synch process

Warning - "Order cannot be received because one of the products is invalid."

Error - "An error occured while processing an order file; the order file is invalid. (1000)"
