Production labels 'creep' when printing from print preview

Production labels 'creep' when printing from print preview

Symptoms

When production labels are printed from within the Print Preview dialog, the labels 'creep' up or down. By 'creep' we mean that each label starts printing a little bit up or down relative to the previous or next labels, instead of in a fixed position as defined by the size of the label.

Cause

This is a side-affect of printing PDF forms from within the Print Preview dialog. It does not occur when printing directly to the printer when printing from Order Entry, nor does it occur when printing via Batch Processing.

Workaround

If you need to preview before you print, you will need to close the preview screen after you have reviewed the labels and then click the Print button directly. This will cause SWCS to print directly to the printer instead of creating a PDF and sending the PDF to the printer.

Status

Solatech has confirmed this to be a problem with the software listed at the end of this article. As more information becomes available this article will be updated.
