This article explains what happens to your Solatech Window Covering Software (SWCS) when you rename a computer.
When a SWCS company is created small configuration file, the .psd file, is created and stored in the \Companies folder. This configuration file is what is used when you 'open' a company from within the software.
One of the pieces of information in the file is the name of the computer on which the company database resides. If you rename the computer after this .psd file is created then it will be referencing a computer that no longer exists.
To fix this all you need to do is edit the .psd file and change the computer name reference. To edit the file:
Note: You MAY receive a warning on attempting to open the file in Notepad that access is denied.
This can normally be resolved by right-clicking on the .psd file, click Properties, select the Security tab.
Click Edit, then click Add. Enter the name "Everyone" (without the quotes) and click OK, then OK, then OK. Retry opening the file in Notepad.
