How to use the language translation feature

How to use the language translation feature

Summary

This article explains how to use the language translation feature of the Solatech Window Covering Software.

Note: The language translation feature is implemented in version 4.2.328 and higher.

More Information

The Language Translation feature of SWCS allows non-english users to use features of the software that require english spellings of words or phrases. For example, when using the QuickEntry feature the software requires options like 'Room Location', 'Width', 'Height', etc. If the product being used was created using non-english words then the QuickEntry feature will not function correctly.

The Language Translation feature is currently implemented in the following modules:
  • Disto QuickEntry
  • Order Entry
  • Process Report Printing

To use the Language Translation feature all you have to do is create a translation file and indicate the alternate spellings for the words that SWCS will be using.

Setting up the translation file

  1. Click Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad.
  2. Add a line for each translation section. Each section must be enclosed in brackets, for example [Option Names]. For a list of allowed sections see Allowed Translation Sections below.
  3. Under each section enter one or more lines for the words to be translated. The format for each line is English word = translated word. For a list of the words that should be translated see the section Translated Words below.
  4. When all sections and words have been added, click File, Save.
  5. Save the file as "languagetranslate.dat" in the same folder as the SWCS program files, typically "C:\Program Files\Solatech\WCS 4".
