How to setup a Leica Disto X3 laser to transmit measurements in SalesPRO
Summary
This article describes how to setup a Disto X3 laser
to transmit measurements, either into SalesPRO software or into another
type of program (Notepad, Excel, Word, etc.)
Instructions
- Turn on your X3 laser (Bluetooth is auto enabled) .
- Select the Windows Start Icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen, then select Settings > Devices> Bluetooth
- Select the Laser from the list of available devices, then hit Pair
- You will receive notification when the device is paired to the computer.
- On the laser, tap the FUNC button to enter the Functions menu
- Tap the button on the left hand side, under the gear icon on the screen.
- Using the "+" or "-" buttons on the laser, select the Bluetooth and gear icon
- Hit "="
- Bluetooth Navigation should be set to "On"
- Hit the button under the "checkmark" icon (lower right) to confirm
- Decimal point should be set to "0.00"
- Hit the button under the "checkmark" icon (lower right) to confirm
- Unit should be set to "off"
- Hit the "checkmark" icon to confirm
- Termination should be set to "Enter"
- Hit the "checkmark" icon to confirm
- Autosend should be set to "off"
- Hit the "checkmark" icon to confirm
- Hit the "C/Off" button
- Hit the "On Dist" button
- You
should see a Blue arrow in the lower right hand corner of the laser,
indicating that measurements are ready to be sent to your device.
Using the laser in SalesPRO
- From within the software, navigate to your Customers list
- Select the customer for which you are recording measurements
- Click on the Customer Measurements icon
- Click on New
- On the New Customer Measurement window, select the appropriate Room, Item (Window, Door) and Mount
- Note: If the drop down menus are for Room, Item and/or Mount, navigate to Maintenance>Lists. Look for Measurement Items and
click on it. When prompted, select "yes" to download the defaults.
Repeat the process for Measurement Items and Measurement Mounts
(requires an internet connection).
- Place your cursor in the Width field
- Take a measurement and hit the button below the blue arrow on the laser screen (lower right hand corner)
- Note:
if you have multiple measurements, hit the "C/Off" button on the laser
until the measurement you wish to send is on the bottom display line.
- Your measurement will be entered and the cursor will advance to the Height field
- Hit the button below the Blue send arrow again
- The Height will be recorded and the cursor will move into the Width field.
- You are ready to take the next measurement and send.
- When all measurements have been completed, hit the Cancel button to return to the main Customer Measurements window
- The
measurements will be shown on this window as a decimal instead of
fraction. This is normal and the measurements will be shown as
fractions in Order Entry.
