How to reset a Leica Disto X3 laser to factory defaults

Summary
Occasionally a user may experience issues with their X3 laser that can be resolved through resetting the device to factory defaults. This is always the first step to try if your laser begins to behave oddly. This knowledge base contains instructions for reset.

Instructions

  1. Press the Func button the laser keypad
  2. Press the button on the left hand side directly beneath the gear icon on the display. This will take you to a settings menu
  3. Using the "+" or "-" buttons on the keypad, navigate to the reset icon. The icon is a circular arrow with an exclamation point in the center. 
  4. Click the "=" button on the keypad
  5. Press the button on the right hand side of the laser which is directly beneath the checkmark on the display
  6. Please note that when you perform this action, you will need to set your laser up to display the correct units of  measurement.  You will also want to setup certain functions that allow measurements to be transmitted into your Solatech software.  These instructions can be found in this  knowledgebase article: How to Setup and use the Leica Disto X3 laser.
