How To Change How Discounts Are Applied

Summary

This article explains how to change how multiple discounts found at the Option Level, Style Level and Product Level are applied in Solatech Window Covering Software ver 4.2

More Information

If the discounting method is incorrectly set, you may not see pricing as you expect.

Solatech recommends that discounts be applied at the line item level as "the First Discount found", as opposed to "the Highest Discount found" or "the Lowest Discount found".

This ensures that if you are discounting at a different rate within a product for a particular style (most common) or a particular option (less common), the appropriate discount will be correctly applied.

To check or set your discounting method, from the Solatech software, click View>Other>Customer Types

There is normally only one customer type, "Standard Retail". Double-click this customer type to open the Edit Customer Type window.

Click on the Pricing tab.

In the line "To determine the Line-Item discount:", click the drop-down and select "Use the first discount"

Click OK to close the Edit Customer Type window.

Close the Customer Types window.
