The Watching feature in SalesPRO software allows you to control which Roaming Workstations receive synced quotes, sales, orders and purchase orders. Instead of having all synced data go to all Roaming Workstations the system only sends the synced data to those Roaming Workstations that have been designated to receive it.
This
article discusses the Watching feature while working with Quotes. The
Watching feature can also apply to sales and orders.
When a Q/S/O is created on a Roaming Workstation, that Q/S/O is automatically 'watched' by that Roaming Workstation. When the user syncs the Q/S/O it will go to the local systems only. Any changes made to the Q/S/O on a local system will only be sent back to the Roaming Workstation that created it.
When a Q/S/O is created on a local system (main computer) it is initially not watched by any Roaming Workstations. In order to get that Q/S/O to a Roaming Workstation it must be synced, but first the user will be prompted to designate at least one Roaming Workstation to watch it.
Syncing of the Q/S/O will then take place between the local systems and the designated Roaming Workstations.
Note: Watching only applies to quotes, sales, orders and purchase orders. All other data such as customers, pricing data, lists, etc. are synced across all Roaming Workstations.
A Roaming workstation cannot view or change who is watching a Q/S/O. They can only see how many Roaming Workstations are watching. To see how many users are watching a quote, select it in the appropriate Center (Quote Center, Sale Center or Order Center) and then look for a number next to the Watching heading on the Summary section.
On a local system you can see what Roaming Workstations are watching by selecting the View Watching command from the Sync button.
Changing what Roaming Workstations are watching can only be done from a local system (main computer).
Important: Any Roaming Workstations that did have a check mark but no longer do when you click OK will have that quote removed from their computer.
